About Acre
At Acre, we're not just building security solutions — we’re empowering security professionals to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Since our inception in 2012, Acre has been at the forefront of innovation in access control, visitor management, and intrusion software. Our solutions are trusted by organisations in over 25 countries, delivering smarter, more adaptable, and easier-to-use security technologies that protect what matters most.

Your Impact

We are looking for a confident Senior Electronic Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team. In this role, you will support both existing products and the introduction of new products into our contract manufacturing environment.

You will play a key role in analysing and resolving manufacturing issues, ensuring smooth production ramp‑ups and ongoing supply continuity. As our products carry comprehensive regulatory approvals, component selection and design decisions must always consider compliance requirements. Some limited international travel may be required.

What You’ll Do
In addition to the above, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM) review with RoHS, REACH, UL, and EN‑compliant alternatives
    • Development of test procedures and assembly instructions
    • Design and validation of test fixtures
    • Validation of first “golden samples” from the production line
    • Approval and validation of manufacturing lines
  • Support updates to existing products and the transfer of products to new manufacturing locations
  • Resolve manufacturing maintenance issues through a prioritised Agile Kanban workflow (e.g. component end‑of‑life, increased failure rates)
  • Specify alternate components for end‑of‑life, cost‑reduction, or compliance needs
  • Design test fixtures, including schematic design
  • Conduct supplier process audits, including on‑site visits to ensure adherence to approval standards such as UL294
  • Identify and implement material or process cost‑reduction opportunities
  • Work closely with Design Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing‑related issues reported from the field, including analogue and digital fault‑finding
  • Support the QA team with customer escalations, including functional and safety issues
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to minimise risk of product supply interruptions

What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Senior Electronic Engineer with minimum 5 years’ post‑graduate experience
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electronic Engineering
  • Proven experience releasing products to manufacturing and supporting production ramp‑ups
  • Experience conducting First Article Inspections on new manufacturing lines
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot manufacturing build issues, including test fixtures and production lines
  • Experience supporting and resolving customer product escalations alongside QA teams
  • Strong analogue and digital fault‑finding skills
  • BOM management experience, including identifying and managing alternate and second‑source components
  • Experience managing ECO releases
  • Experience sourcing alternatives for obsolete electronic components
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements, including RoHS, REACH, CMRT, TSCA
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 (beneficial)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time‑management skills
